Evelyn Huntjens is a member of the Xeni Gwet’in – Tsilhqot’in People of the Nemiah Nation located in the heart of BC. Evelyn enjoys extensive experience working within the financial services industry as a financial planner. Evelyn’s main focus over her career has been to work collaboratively with her clients regarding financial management to assist them in reaching their long-term financial goals, while helping clients answer the question “Why is money important to me?”

Evelyn currently works as an Indigenous Registered Disability Plan (RDSP) Case Manager Navigator with the British Columbia  Aboriginal Network on Disability Society (BCANDS). BCANDS is an award winning, Indigenous disability organization founded in 1991 and the only Indigenous organization of its type in Canada. Through her role at BCANDS, Evelyn assists eligible Indigenous individuals and families in navigating through the process of qualifying for, and enrolling in, the Registered Disability Savings Plan. Many individuals and families Evelyn works with often have limited financial planning and literacy skills however through her work, Evelyn helps them imagine the realm of possibilities financial security can bring. Evelyn’s passion to see her clients succeed drives her advocacy and in turn the success of the BCANDS Indigenous RDSP Navigator program.
